Chief Deputy Tim Kean of the San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office in Texas held a news conference Wednesday to discuss the arrest of a man suspected of killing five of his neighbors, including a 9-year-old boy, in a shooting near the Texas town of Cleveland last week. The suspect, Francisco Oropesa, was taken into custody Tuesday following an extensive manhunt.

The briefing police officer help de-sensationalize the criminal by not publicly naming him which is a good thing IMO. The reporters are dumb they are asking about the current crime, but everyone knows that answering those questions can impact the criminal case. The questions that should be discussed is why was a illegal immigrant have a firearm and police were called out to the residence in the past. According to reports he had been deported and returned several times....so that is the story that should be told, then focus on the crime after he is in court. The Briefing police officer did a really good job at saying no, I am not answering those questions and I wish more would be so bold when facing the media. 30, 000 grand a year to risk your life to protect and serve, sad.
