2023 Update: Renogy has changed the subscription plans since we first made this video. It was confusing as all get out; now, it's much simpler. YOU DO NOT need a subscription plan in order to remotely monitor your system. All you need is a wifi connection for the R1 and a data connection for your smart phone.

The Renogy ONE M1 is a complete all-in-one solar energy monitoring and off-grid smart home management device. But what does that all mean? In this video, we'll show you how we installed and connected it to the solar components in our off-grid rolling tiny home. We'll also show you how this device does so much more than just monitor your system. **Get 10% off your purchase anytime on non-sale Renogy products by using our AFFILIATE LINKS below & our PROMO CODE (canlife) at checkout!**

Blog Review:

The potential for this little device is crazy whether your off-grid home is stationary, floats or rolls like ours. Not only does it wirelessly connect (or via ethernet cables) to all of your Renogy solar devices, it allows you to connect remotely to your system via the Renogy DC Home App on your smartphone or tablet, to view real time data as well as control some of your home's energy systems. Using wireless relays, in addition to some smart gadgets, you can turn on / off appliances, change load parameters, monitor the security of your location and automate many of your daily energy routines. It can help you become more efficient, independent and even, secure.

What we like about the Renogy ONE:
1. Easy to install and set up.
2. Connection to Renogy DC Home App couldn't be easier and allows you to view all of your devices in the app.
3. 4' HD touch screen and switches are clear and super intuitive to use.
4. The potential for adding new components and home energy automation is impressive.
5. Works well even without a subscription plan.

What we are not so crazy about:
1. Programming the automated scenes is not super intuitive.

Hi ! Thank you for this nice video ! I don’t understand how to plug a load. For exemple my fan, I want to plug to one of the switches. Where do you plug the negative wire from the fan ? And in the book, the diagram shows a « <30v power supply » what is it ? I only have my 12v battery lol. There is something I don’t get… :(
Thank you :)

That's the info I needed. The payment table is confusing, but not your fault. Thanks! 👍

Do you need wifi if you don't want to use the cloud features? Can it just display everything in the van without?

Great video, so would this allow connection to other devices over bt and wired simultaneously? like a wired mppt controller and wifi battery. And before you got the ONE M1, can the dc home app work with both your bt-2 devices together or do you connect to one at a time to se status?
Im trying to work out a good way to build the monitoring ecosystem.

I have bought one and need to set this up, firstly I need to buy some LED lights, can I rely on this to turn on LED lights every time I open the cargo doors? Will this need to be constantly on so the door sensors can turn on the lights? Will I be able to turn on the lights pressing one of the buttons without having to turn this on? Thanks in advance!
