Something im interested in, is having the old Chapter 1 artstyle and aesthetic (angular and wacky looking buildings and weapons, cartoony lighting and terrain, fun and creative items, goofy easter eggs, and original iconic emotes and character designs) all put into a brand new map that brings back the feeling of what fortnite is to many

As much as I say I wish they never left Chapter 1, it wouldn't work. They would need to add SO MUCH to even keep the game alive. And by the time the game dies, it would look nothing like it once did, there would be tons of map expansions and what once was a beloved map is now a mess.

The only real parts of Chapter 1 I miss is the locker UI, 3d lobbies and storyline.

I remember the day when they stopped doing them, it was mid to late Season 9, it was a plain blue background basically. (Previously it was a 3d lobby of Neo-Tilted) I miss those lobbies, they were so cool.

It feels like since Chapter 3 the Storyline has been a mess, The Seven went missing in C3, S4 and we've not heard from them since nor have we heard from the I.O. The events were much grander and more frequent then they are now.

To be honest, I think chapter 1 was better because of the vibe. Getting scared of a skin, creative was a lot more limited but a lot more creative without creative 2.0, not as many collabs and when they were made they were small and well received.

Theoretically, if we never left chapter 1, the only thing that would be different is that there would be no other maps. Chapter 1 would just evolve as the game has today through story, map changes, and mechanics.

6:51 I disagree here. In my opinion chapter 1 is the best season by far.

Unique graphics and style, best battle passes, not too many crossovers shoved in your face, best events, best season events like Christmas and Halloween, and best gameplay.

The gameplay one might be a little controversial but chapter 1 really had the best gameplay. Simple loot pool, simpler building, and simple mobility. Now whenever I play it's ridiculous how much over complicated items they've added, it's a mess really.

Chpater 1 was it's own unique game, it was Fortnite. Now though Fortnite is just another way to advertise and exploit crossovers.

But the question now what if Fortnite stuck in chapter 2 or chapter 3?

Epic is doing the Whole "Metaverse" thing, so they NEED to just add OG Season 1 permanent game mode and have it rotate from season 5 through 8 or even 1-9. They don't need to even change anything. Just have it rotate and add a special mini-battle pass. Boom. So many people would be incredibly happy and they can still keep making all of their crazy new seasons, etc.

honestly i dont think that old fortnite was all that good mechanical wise but feeling wise it was amazing, i do not think fortnite shouldve stayed in chapter one but they should have kept that same artstyle and way of life that they had back then. The move from wacky and cartoony while still being fun and tactical to just straight realism and tactical was a pretty big and steep jump. i remember when chapter 2 came out and everyone was just blown away by the graphical fidelity, compare that to now its a day and night difference, . The reason Season OG didnt scratch the chapter one itch is because they kept the modern fortnite style and brought back the map and guns. its why things like Nova, Fmod, Era exist because rather than trying to imitate it just is. fortnite if u think about it is like a kid growing into a teen, They discover new thing and they dress differently, Fortnite went from kid to teen, its wearing different clothes its learning new things and even tho its the same person on the inside

edit: i was high when i wrote this excuse the absolute poetry at the end

We didn’t realize what we had until it was taken away from us

One thing I’ve noticed was that ever since chapter 2 began after the black hole event ended Epic hasn’t been the same since then like they turned into a completely different person. During chapter 1 they used to do weekly content listening to community feedback a lot often then chapter 5. Yeah their communication improved a bit at the end of chapter 2 but it still wasn’t as good as before. Plus I always thought the UI from chapter 4 season 2 was probably the best designed one we’ve gotten so far with the level up bar and when your queuing into a match a little animation plays like it was a really spot on UI if I do say so myself. And yet they had to ruin it by replacing the level up bar with a weird circle designed one which made no sense to me. It disappoints me on how badly Epic’s decisions are now compared to chapter 1 besides season X when they refuse to listen to feedback about removing the mechs and not nurfing them while all that did was put a laser to aim a bit better like huh

season 4 and 7 were peak fortnite, 9 was damn amazing and 8 and 10 were peak casual play, total 11/10 fortnite era (season x best for me tho, loved the landspots, lootpool, style and the whole chapter mixed)

You have to lose something before you realize how much you love it.
Fortnite OG always has a special place in my heart ❤

Agreed chapter 1 was nostalgic and good but if we compare it with the newest chapters the chapter 1 is not the best and if we stay on chapter 1 we will not see those mechanics like sprint and mantel, riding animales, swiming, transform to chrome, and many other things like dash and medallions and nitro

this guy is tweaking bruh what😭 aint no way he said chapter 4 is better than 1, it was basic but that is better than the intricate goofy things they are adding now

NGL if we were stuck on the last day of season X i wouldnt mind.

I honestly think chapter 1 was the best because of the simplicity and the cartoonish feel to it

Chapter 2 S2-5 is actually the best stretch of Fortnite ever.
Content was fresh and fun, everybody wasn’t too sweaty but they weren’t so trash that you’d just have no difficulty or challenge. Graphics peaked, player interactions increased from C1S5-SX (people actually didn’t really like those seasons back when they came out).

I really like the idea of the video, but I dont think you are answering that question. The feeling I got throughout the video was ''What if Fortnite NEVER LEFT Chapter 1 map?", which is a whole different question and with that the video makes sense.

Before answering the actual question, we need to understand what an update needs to be considered a different chapter (with the exception of the official title, of course). With that you could argue that they could still change the map and it would still be considered Chapter 1.

Without putting much thought into it, I'd say that to be considered a new chapter, besides a map update, I'd argue it would also need a major change in the story (the end event for instance), major changes to the core gameplay of the game, major changes to the overall design, look, and feel of the game.

So yeah, imagine if we did get map changes, but the gameplay, items, and guns would be similar to Chapter 1. Then we can actually start answering the question. Imagine Chapter 5, but the guns are all hitscans, we dont have the crazy mythics and super hero stuff, all the 3D models have that Tim Burton look to it, there are no cars, the battle pass is not tied to your level, etc...
