Thanks a bunch i've now finally set up a connection! I'm trying to learn SQL using the Oracle sqldeveloper IDE and even just installing and setting up a connection is so damn complex especially if you're not from a tech background.

On one side: you are pointing to buttons with arrows, which everyone can clearly see (that's not the issue)
On the other side you are not showing how to install oracle from scratch. May be we need to install additional apps or do some manipulations

After searching many pages in google also still could not find a solution. I have copied the sql downloaded file and placed in E drive instead of C drive. Is that an issue? everyone just download the express version than download the SQL developer . after that create new database connection in which enter the pass when u install the express edition and username will be system.

you really need to assume that we are students who have been asked to use SQLdeveloper, and there is no existing database for us to connect to. We have downloaded SQL developer, and then gone, "now what?" How do I create a database?
