Preparing to Sail in Remote Areas - Sailing Australia Ep.54

We call out the Australian Coast Guard for the first time and get lifted out of the water to check Florence's bottom ready for sailing to Indonesia. The clock ticks away as we try to get all of our work done on Florence in under 72 hours to save an extra day on the hard. Sailing to a country with limited facilities to maintain and repair a yacht requires some careful planning and hard graft. After all the hard work we then decide to chill out with the koalas, manta rays and a couple of salt water crocodiles...

Classiest SV channel that I follow. Brilliant vid editing, pleasant and fitting musical accompaniment, educational and adventurous. Good karma to you both. You deserve it. Florence looks great after her 3 day makeover. Fair winds!

The no-nonsense, practical style is reminiscent of documentary making of old. A great mix of practical advice and adventure. Great work SV Florence

You are both so sensible and festiduos about preventative checks and maintenance. That's why Florence hasn't given you any trouble at all. Love the videos. Love learning too

I've been binge watching your series for the last couple of weeks and it's great to see how polished your videos are becoming. You both seem much more comfortable on camera and your personalities are coming through in the later films. Moreover, your editing is really well done. The storylines are linear and coherent. I wish you health and happiness. Safe travels and thanks for letting us tag along.

We're your 100th patrons (now you can work on your second 100 patrons!). Found you about a month ago and binge-watched since then and now we're all caught up. Agree with a previous comment about how much more relaxed you are now than in the earlier episodes, but your personalities always shown through and that's why we wanted to support your journey. So happy you're letting us come along for the ride.

You are very pleasant to look at. You're doing what I want to live. You, without a lot of money, can live happily under sail. I'm old, and I'll never see the sea. But I see it through your eyes. May God give you good luck. (Machine translation from Russian.)

If I was your Patron ( sorry not in a position to do that now, saving for my own boat) I would be very confident my funds were well spent. Other Patreon sites seem a little more cavalier about their GoPros and costs in general. Also your engine looks pristine. Very impressed with your attention to maintenance.

You guys are quite the pair. I'm sure sail life comes with its hardships, as does many forms of living. But whats easily noticeable about you two is the balance in which you operate. Adventurous, fun loving, but organized/ efficient. This is a great example for youth couples (I'm 25 myself) and i applaud you both. I will be purchasing a Catamaran in the next 6 months for occasional sail (nothing near what your doing.) But i hope we encounter one another at some point in the future. Keep on, keeping on yall!

I’m always interested in the maintenance cruisers undertake, and yours are so well documented. Glad to see your rigging is in good shape!

Every time I watch your vlogs l’m instantly reminded of Sunday nights as boy watching the Leyland Brothers. Really enjoy your informative and explorative show. Well done you two 👍

If you are fairly up to date please put all your dry goods/powder milk in sealable containers and get rid of the paper where bugs like to lay eggs. Did you check and shake any fresh veggies for bugs. Do you use perma marker to mark your canned goods once lables are off. also if your bilge pump goes all that paper could come off and clog. I'm so excited to see your next video you both bring such excitement to sailing it's refreshing. : )peace

Attention to details. One important step of a successful voyage like yours, or Capt. Cook's. Well done you two. Cheers :)

Good humor, suspense and images on the croc adventure. Would have liked to have seen more of that.
