California man arrested on arson charge after allegedly starting Park Fire

Investigators say a man started the massive Park fire currently burning near Chico, California by pushing a burning car into a ravine.

Upper Bidwell Park is on the edge of town but it's a busy part of town. Lots of people were up there swimming and got stuck. We have a homeless problem in the park. The police just handed out 7 day notices to a bunch of people a couple days ago. Witnesses say the guy looks like someone that was causing problems up there last week. Heard he lit the car on fire and pushed it down the hill. The fire burned towards Cohasset as they evacuated everyone down the hill into the fire. People were stuck up there all night. The smoke column is huge. It keeps billowing miles into the sky then collapsing.

Years ago some wacked out female was arrested for starting a wild fire. In her statement she said that while hiking she got thirsty and came across what she thought might be a puddle of "bear urine" and started a fire so as to boil it to the point that it was clean enough to drink.
No joke. You can google it.

It's sad that many of us in Chico found out about the man and what he did through TikTok yesterday afternoon from eyewitness accounts. My phone was blasted text messages containing at least one video from family that live in Washington State and other parts of the nation. It may have been speculation but the news agencies dropped the ball when it comes to investigation.

Park California Fire. I've looked at over 25 news sites trying to find a single one which says what make and model of car, which was already burning, was pushed off the road into a gully. Could it be an EV or Hybrid with Lithium battery used as power source in it? Those are dangerous for the battery catching on fire. Why is nobody reporting exactly HOW the car began burning when still on the roadway? Does anyone know?

I seem to remember a time in the 80s here in the midwest when the Mississippi had a catastrophic flood. One of the first people who reported the break in the levee was charged and convicted with causing the break under dubious evidence at best. I think he's still rotting in jail. Thousands of homes were destroyed by the flood. Thing is, there's a lot of evidence that the charges against this man were being encouraged by insurance companies because *Flood insurance doesn't cover acts of sabotage or vandalism.*
