Thank you for the great info on starting costs but I think you need to include (if you are selling a physical product), the cost of packing, and shipping materials, including labels, printer ink (and / or the cost of a thermal label printer and labels), etc.

The expense of all this could easily run into at least $100 or more just for the costs of your packing and shipping materials alone, and if you buy a thermal label printer and labels for it, that could easily be over $100+ also.

And that doesn't include the costs of your materials and supplies to create the items you are making and selling (or getting manufactured beforehand).

Most factories / manufacturers have a minimum order and even then that could make your resulting retail cost higher than a buyer would want to pay, so you would have to order a greater amount to bring the per-item cost down.

If you make the product(s) yourself, you still need to buy the raw materials from somewhere, which could be costly if you pay retail prices, which would greatly lower your profit per item.
So whatever you are creating, from prints of your artwork, to dolls, to jewelry to seasonal items or enamel pins, etc., you still have to factor into your start-up costs, the price of your raw materials/manufacturing, and packing and shipping. ☺️

So..if you sell a digital product, and 5people buy it(the same design), do you have to pay for 5 listings or just this 1?
