Regarding what you said at the end, I appreciate it. There is for sure a long history of oppression between England and the Celtic nations of the British Isles (Wales, Scotland, Ireland). The Welsh language was banned for a long time but is now taught in all schools here. Many schools even do all of their education in Welsh. For now most of the oppression is just name calling and worn out jokes honestly. A big issue in my area is that because Wales is much poorer than England, English retirees are buying up all of the housing in many towns which means a lot of young locals can't afford to live where they grew up anymore and are being priced out of their homes. I live in a small coastal town and probably a 1/3rd of the properties here are English families second homes. They only come here for a few weeks or months a year. There was also a recent story, you can look it up, of a London based real-estate agency buying an entire Welsh village and doubling the rent. Many of the residents of elderly and disabled, now facing eviction. Also back in 1965 one of the last entirely Welsh speaking villages was flooded by the government without consent from local Welsh authorities for the construction of a reservoir. The water was intended for Liverpool, a city in England. This remains a highly controversial event here in Wales.

Just wanted to add a comment and say how great this video was. I'm Welsh, and we are often just classed as England by a lot of people and forgotten so you taking the time to learn and react to our history is amazing! I echo the comments of Sheepsky and how Wales has been constantly mined for its resources. The mining strikes of South Wales after Maggie Thatcher closed the mines, the horrific treatment of the people of Aberfan by the gov, the forced persecution of the language that is often why there is so much animosity between the two countries and we are still fighting for a fair deal with the UK Government on many aspects. Amazing Video thank you :-) x

It’s very sad that History and Geography other than American is not taught in American schools, this country is so so blinkered and many Americans still have no clue that other countries exist outside America. In fact one video showed an American accusing Paris of stealing the name from an American town.

There's no shame in not knowing something, you're finding out new things with an open mind and drawing reasonable conclusions, that's to be commended!
