Playing GTA in First Person! (GTA 3 - 5) | Evolution

Grand Theft Auto V is the one which introduced First Person gameplay in GTA series and it took the first-person mode to a whole new level. In GTA V, players can experience the entire game world from a first-person perspective, including driving, shooting, and interacting with other characters. This mode also features additional options, such as the ability to adjust the field of view and toggle a first-person cover system.

However, some of us like to play games in first person mode. But old GTA games did give us the option to play only in 3rd person mode. That's where the mods come! We can experience all the main GTA titles in first person mode!!

In this video, we'll be comparing GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, GTA IV and GTA V first person modes! Let's see how the games have been evolved in the first person perspective!

The fact claude had arm hair in first person shows that they were going to do first person. even for a game in 2001. You can sort of go in first person during driving. By pressing L2 and R1 while pressing O button. where claude's side profile can be seen as he shoots through a window in the underground road that goes through the other islands. Neat detail.

I would think there was technical difficulties during dev that made it not official.

Actually, even in the original version of GTA V (PS3 & Xbox 360) the steering wheel doesn't rotate at all, that's because that version of the game hasn't featured First-Person perspective yet, until the next gen and the PC port...

Casual reminder that even GTA V didn't have a first person view upon release, it was only added in the PS4 / XBox One version. Would be interesting to see a modded fist person cam for the original.
