EV Cars are BRUTALLY FAST, but they just aren't for me. I want to have the look and feel of a muscle car, pumped full of electric speed. I bought the quickest sedan in the world from 2015, a Tesla P90D wrecked at Auction, and I'm going to gut it for all the EV speed parts we need. If I can sell enough junk, I'll get the parts I need for FREE!

We appreciate YA!

This channel's really come into it's own. Tony's got a specific way of going about things that its apparent everyone who had creative control over him in his past endeavors really took.

I really hope he (and everyone involved) is genuinely enjoying making this content and we have this channel a long time to come.
Thanks for bringing us along for the ride man.

This car belonged to my step-father! He was in a head-on collision with another car that drifted into his lane, both vehicles were going ~50 mph. It was likely labeled a bio-hazard from the substance on the windshield that was actually some raisin bran and milk he had sitting in a coffee cup. He was in a back brace for a few weeks but otherwise was completely unhurt. Sad to see the battery is gone, but I can't wait to see what you do with that motor!

Great video. You should put the front and rear motors in the s10 and make an all electric syclone. That thing would be insane

Don't forget about the top glass! That should be able to be sold pretty easily and for a decent amount.

I'm all in for watching a weekly episode of Angelo's Pizza Kitchen, or at least a T-Shirt!

Tony, so so happy to see that your response to all the feedback about your choice to produce content with hagerty was to get back to the roots of the channel producing the show on your own with some cool guys. Your way, your style that we all came for. Furthermore it really shows that you care about your viewers and they are more important than a corporate name. Thank you for the Great content.

Dude I'd be pissed at COPART was there ANY indication the battery was removed in the auction? That just seems shady AF to me. Anyhow I'm excited to see what you end up doing with all this Jetson's gadgetry.

I think its super cool that you are doing this. Hot rodding has always been about using whatever is available. If you showed an electric motor that made 500hp that weighed 250lbs to somebody in the 50's, their jaws would drop.

Rear drive unit into a king bed truck so the batteries can be mounted in the box for ease and covered with a tonneau cover. The weight of the batteries would also be over the axles for traction.

Probably the last place I expected to see an EV Build, and I am all for it!

I for one approve of this build. Who cares how you make it fast. I have the ooni pizza oven, you gotta work so fast so the dough doesn't stick to the peel.

What a great project. I really love the direction this channel is consistently heading in. It's DIY hot rodding on the cheap, and it's so entertaining to watch. Keep it up, guys!

Hell yes! Like you mentioned at the top, hot rodding is about making due with what you've got and embracing new technologies. Can't wait to see how the build turns out!

Even I’ve seen Smokey and the Bandit..! Let’s get some summer movie nights lined up, start a Stay Tuned drive-in with a projector on the side of the garage.

@14:30 behind the cut point is a low voltage wire powered by the 12v battery that controls the contactors (big relay) at the battery to de-energise the high voltage system.

This safety feature is part of why they won't work without the 12v battery.

let me just say, without being a kiss ass also, that these three make the best team of all time, the ingredients to a top auto channel needs to have people who work off each other in an entertaining manner and these three are just the very very best, new subscriber glad to be here

The Lincoln seems to have decided that it does not want to be internal combustion anymore, but your old Buick would be a strong choice too. I will be interested to see what you guys end up hacking together.

A few years ago an EV conversion company came out with what was effectively a Tesla crate motor, designed as a direct bolt in replacement for a small block Chevy. The thing is, that package cost around $30k and all the other bits needed added another $20k, so doing what you're doing is still potentially a very cheap way of converting a muscle car to electric.
Also, for anyone worried about the lack of noise, take a listen to Hoonigan's Hoonitron, because that thing screams like a banshee when it lights off... 😁
