So here's the thing, if time travel could exist, then it's impossible that changing the past would change the future. It would be more like the avengers where it just creates a separate timeline and you would go back your past which is the other timeline's future.

Here's what I mean, if time travel became possible and someone was able to do it, then it would be available to everyone. Everyone would be able to do it. And this would make it so that things would have already changed. Thus meaning that everything that we are experiencing now is the result of people changing the past. If it became possible to change the past to affect the future, then nothing we perceive as reality would actually be the case because it would constantly change due to other effects. That's confusing right? But think of it this way.

Let's say you go back in time and pick up a lottery ticket from the past, and then you return to the future. You would know what the winning numbers are and have picked up that ticket and brought it with you to the future. However, the only thing it would change is the fact that you in the future have won some money. But if you go back in time and kill your former self, you won't die. Because you are dead in that timeline, so that timeline you will fail to exist further. So yes some things could change like the lottery thing I mentioned, but don't you think if that was the case everyone would be winning the lottery? Because they would all be able to do so? Thus making the idea of separate timelines more possible than just changing the future by changing the past.

Honestly it's a bunch of malarkey. There will never be time travel like that. I am a religious person, but I am also very scientific, I find science and religion fascinating. I believe in God regardless of what anyone tells me, but I also see everyone's points on their thoughts of everything as well. That's why it fascinates me. However, this form of time travel is unfortunately impossible

Thought experiment question:If we do get there, time travel in the future. Would we not have traveled back already to some earlier time ? If we did travel to an earlier time and haven't told anyone (ignoring some who claim that they are from the future for the moment) why haven't we 'made it known'? Perhaps we can only observe and are unable to interfere with the timeline?

The thing about going back in time is that you're not only visiting earth's past but the universe's past as well. So it makes me wonder if a extraterrestrial civilization achieved time travel could they use it to spread their species throughout the universe? If they find planets that are habitable or once were they can just travel to said planets past and populate it. They could also use time travel for warfare, sending bombs or troops back in time. Trough time travel could also essentially gain unlimited resources.
