D&D Beyond does not let you create standard non magical items - only magical ones. There is a way around that and I discuss that in this video.
D&D Beyond also has a propagation bug - this can catch you out if you haven't encountered it before and it may, make you think you are doing something wrong!

Update: It took approx 15mins for the V1.5 modified deringer to become available after the initial edit!

To modify the "to hit" clcik on the item, when it brings up the text box description click on customize on the top tab of the description box and it will give you a couple mroe options to add and remove some num, ebrs

This is the same way I add new weapons, armor ect. I also noticed the delayed update and the need to remove the old item from the character

I am unable to find my homebrew items to add to my character's inventory after creating them. This isn't just a second version, but rather the first version isn't showing up. Is there something you could think of that I'm missing?

This isn't "how to create non-magical homebrew items" it's just making a magical homebrew item and pretending it's not magical
