Most Dangerous Animals in Australia - STONEFISH

When you are in the waters of Australia, be on the lookout for both moving and motionless creatures. The dangerous stonefish lays motionless in the shallow waters of Northern Australia. The animals are fatal to step on, but one might never see them.
For example, an Australian man was in Fiji on holiday in 2013 when he trod on a stonefish in the shallow waters. The 51-year-old was taken through a week of intensive care before he was allowed to travel back to Sydney. He spent two more weeks there before the swollen leg returned to normal. Others say it took them 6 months to get back to normalcy. This is because the creature destroys the tissues in your body. Craig Saxby finally received an anti-venom shot when he returned to Australia, something that was unavailable on the plantation island.

Listening to the voiceover has caused more fatalities than the Stonefish.

The shock and pain from it is the most lethal part.

Please don’t spread misinformation and call it “fatal” it’s horrible and in rare cases the pain can cause a heart attack. But again, it’s very rare for it to be fatal.
