Dante saw blackness before him, and he hoped it was over. Then, he saw shapes before him forming into images. Another dream.

He saw himself and a copy of himself before Sanguinious holding a las pistol.

"Which one is real?" Came the question from Sanguinious, his voice rich like sweet honey from the most pampered of beehives.

Dante saw his copy point to him, claiming he was the fake. He wanted to nod, to see the blackness again, but his copy dropped to the ground.

He gazed at Sanguinious wordlessly.

"There was only one, my son." Sanguinious told him as he dropped the laspistol and walking toward him.

"Please, please father. I can't do this anymore. I'm tired. I'm tired of holding the world on my shoulders." Dante begged as his father knelt before him.

Dante felt warmth around his body as Sanguinious embraced him, holding his face against his chest. As Dante were a child again and crying over a scrapped knee.

"I'm sorry, Dante. If I could, I would take the pain away." Sanguinious apologized.

"You have fought so hard and endured so much. I need you to fight just a little longer, my son. You cannot join your brothers just yet." Sanguinious said.

"You can! Just let me go-!" Dante started to say, but felt Sanguinious hug him harder and stayed quiet.

"I cannot. I need you to live, Dante. You are my son. And I have faith in you. You are strong and wise and I could not be more prouder to be your father." Sanguinious told Dante.

"Please father. Please." Dante begged him.

"No. The galaxy needs you. And I forbid you to die, do you understand? I love you and all of my sons, and that is something I will never stop doing. I will always be here to hold you close and guide you." Sanguinious told him as he picked Dante up.

"Where are you taking me?" Dante asked.

"Back to your body. You'll be fine, my son. I love you and I have faith in you." Sanguinious encouraged as a white light shone behind him.

"Dantes back!" The Apothecary shouted as Dante wearily blinked his eyes open.

He rested his head against the cool grass.

"I want to hate you, father. But I can't." He thought.
