As a watch fanatic myself, I understand why people would say not to get it polished because it looses its “personality” when the patina is gone. However, those are watch people that also want the original story with their pre owned watch.

For you, the polishing makes sense because now you can make your story and start mostly from new. Here’s to making your own scratches! 🥂

I’m impressed the watch expert was so down to earth and honest. Seems like a good shop.

Love when professional people are kind enough to give a lesson

Looks great polished. Plus it’s new to you so now you can put your own scratches on it then it really mean something, your own patina, your own stories to go with them. Nice purchase dude.

Looks really good after polishing. The shop did a really good job at not over polishing to remove the deeper scratches. Awesome watch at a really good price!

Polishing is making “your” image look better. Remember. You purchased it and u can do whatever you want with it. So don’t feel bad when “collectors” complain about ruining the “patina”. Great job on an excellent buy and the polished watch looks magnificent 🎉

That was really nice of the owner of the shop to give you the Rolex lesson.

Good idea to polish the Rolex as it looks nice and it still has some of the bigger scratches to show that it isn’t new and has a history, nice balance.

One of the main reasons people say not to polish is that small details of the watch are lost afterwards, the crown logo on the clasp is less crisp, the intricacies of the beveled edges are gone etc, and because polishing removes material, you really can’t get those details back

You made the right choice to get it polished because now you can make your own scratches and dents and have your own story with the watch, good job sir 👏🏾 👍🏾

Scratches and imperfections give a watch personality. It tells a story. Do what you want with your watch. Don’t let anyone influence you. I think polishing it gives you a clean canvas to tell your story.

People who want scratched up watches confuse me.
Just get it polished.
I'm not a watch guy, just think there is no other choice than getting your watch as clean and perfect as possible if you can afford it.

Polish it and scratch it yourself. Thats my mindset. Have the scratches that you make to have your own story.

A rich old man once told me Rolex is like the Apple of the watch world. They make it seem like they're the only option and everybody knows the status that come with one, but those who truly understand the market will be far more impressed with a Oneplus 7pro.

I think that unless they specifically said they didn’t want to be mentioned in your video, you should say who this shop was after saying such nice things… means a lot to shops like that

I love it! It’s not loud whatsoever, and very simple looking. And classy!
It’s better clean than filthy. It livened it up.
