No no no no, I wouldn’t share no matter how close the friend is. My wife and I argued about the car when someone needed it. We saw then that two cars were needed because our work life. And that’s marriage. I can’t imagine a friend that could just walk away if something happens. A supercar is meant to be owned and enjoyed by the owner. But you could still let friends use it with some restrictions or rent it out if not needed for some time. Sounds harsh but if your name isn’t on the car papers, the car will never feel like yours no matter how much you could use it.

I think the biggest issue with supercar sharing is who gets it when. If you have a schedule that might not be fair since you don't know the weather forecast and you might get unlucky and get a bunch of rainy days. What if both of you want it at the same time? Another issue is what if one of them wants to sell it but the other doesn't? Becomes an issue. What if one uses it much more than the other? You're building up on the depreciation unequally and therefore losing value, and if you paid equal amounts it would be quite unfair. I think those are the biggest downsides of car sharing.

It feels better to own it by yourself. To know, the car is on your yard, if you need it, for a spontaneous quick drive in the sunny evening. Sharing means half of the fun.

I think it is a bad idea noble in theory but not that good in practice, here is why:
1 there will be arguments regarding if the car brakes in the possession of the other driver or if anything happens to it.
2 time share will not be as easy as it first seems maybe one of you has an event outside of the time share and wants the car, that will create a precedent for time share being flexible
3 when it is time to sell it will be hard to convince the other guy that the price is ok(maybe he thinks it deserves more)/or one wants to sell it the other dosen`t

In my opinion have something less but at least it is yours and ONLY you are accountable for it

Find the right person to do it with and go for it! I can see the wrong person causing the whole thing to be a mess, but I’ve done 50/50 splits on vehicles before and it’s worked amazingly. If it’s cared for equally by each party with rules in place it’ll be an easy world.
