20HR Understanding Trauma for Safer Spaces - A Practice of Orientating
Показать описание
A practice of orientating. What is Orientating?
It works by communicating a sense of safety to your nervous system by finding something that you can anchor to and that you can ground back to. In spaces that you spend frequent time in, take time to look around that space and find something that naturally draws you in and something that brings a sense of ease.
E.g. plant, painting, blanket. This can be anything that draws your attention in and evokes a sense of safety, ease or comfort.
This is also a great practice to do in new spaces, when you might feel overwhelmed, anxious, uncertain. One of the first things I do in new spaces is look around for an anchor point, so that I can ground in to the space for a moment, and come back to throughout my time in this space if my emotions/ energy increases or if I become activated.
What will you learn in the 20HR Understanding Trauma for Safer Spaces Training?
