Salvation and Sacrifice (Catholic)

There is a relationship between salvation and sacrifice. An error that has crept into the Church gives the impression that all roads lead to heaven. That somehow, everyone is saved and nobody can lose their salvation, and that salvation is easy. But Jesus was clear. He spoke about the goats and sheep, he spoke about the wide and narrow road, and He spoke about the necessity of picking up our cross daily and following Him. Yes, salvation is a gift, but a gift that we need to dispose our hearts to receive.

I agree. However, knowing that only a few may enter through the narrow gate, we should weep for them; Jesus does. To earn our first place trophy we must pray for the conversion of sinners, and love God. Unite our sufferings, bitternesses, troubles, pains to the sufferings of Jesus so all will convert and find Him. We must multiply our talents, or we become that wicked servant, cast out. We must help save souls, pray for those on the wrong path, or we too won't earn a place. Our concern for sinners shows Him that we love Him and want to be like Him, on the Cross of pain and love. Jesus' example shows us to sacrifice for the salvation of souls.

Isn't it so sad what society is teaching kids. Don't worry no effort you are still awarded. I know this lackadaisical attitude comes from the evil one. "Humility." This is a tough thing to do but being able to be Humble to God is actually a gift. Isn't it just being like the children? I keep working towards being humble. Confession more frequently helps with humility. I put this on my FB page.
