From my experience, do not plunge after a lift...cardio yes. Cold plunging before lifting makes me feel significantly stronger. If youre retired, wake up, eat, plunge, gym. Get it done quick and move on to your day.

I lift almost everyday and cold plunge 3-5 min daily as well. Temps 48/55. On weight days I plunge about 20 min or so before my workout. Warm up then Lift. Have had 0 issues and Feel Great. Also I bought the Ice Pod Long pod due to your videos.

Great video thanks! I cold plunge first thing in the morning after I wake up for 2-3mins at 37F and workout later in the afternoon. Works for me!

You know what I love about science, there is always a study that proves, or disproves….and people get so caught up but forget to understand the study group.

Number one thing I learned starting my endurance path, just Beucase it works for this person, doesn’t mean it works for me. I have failed a ton, but succeeded a ton. To me testing different things to find what works for me is key.

That being said, after a run the cold plunge is like magic. Before bed again magic, the second I wake up, torture!

My daily routine is in the morning I stand in front of the red light panel 10 minutes front side & 10 minutes back side. I do this before cold plunge since there's heat coming from it and I don't want to warm up from the cold plunge using the red light panel. Then, 4 minute cold plunge @ 40-44 degrees. In the afternoon/evening, I lift weights and then sauna for 20 minutes between 176-200 degrees.

Great video. I personally don’t believe that study. I just don’t think it’s a big deal for the average lifter. My favorite time to cold plunge is after a workout. It’s hot as hell in TX and cold plunging helps me get my body temp down quickly.

My goal is to do a body weight workout (push up, sit up, squat) variations of each 5x/wk. Then I immediately ruck 4 miles. Then get in the cold plunge for 5-7min. In doing this I have lost almost 50lbs. Would changing up my cold plunge timing give me better benefits? This sequence has worked best for my daily schedule

From what I've looked at it seems it definitely does if you plunge immediately after weight lifting.... but it doesn't kill all of them just some of them. So you can negate most of it by just not going into the plunge immediately after lifting. No effect on any other training though (like running). They don't have an "exact number" and such a thing is probably impossible.... but I've always felt that unless you are trying to compete on a national level and above (in which case you are likely doing PEDs and not that worried about your you shouldn't really care as long as you like it and reap benefits from it. Better to recover and by healthy and happy than "as jacked as

I'm chasing bigger numbers and want bigger muscles but I also like feeling better and living longer. I've no interest in being Mr Olympia or World's Strongest man so the loss of "TEH GAINZZZZ" isn't really that scary to me. My main point on this though is people shouldn't try to take a side or look at the science they want. I used to be in a Wim Hoff Method / Cold Plunge Discord and had people block me for saying "studies do show that it affects gains, but not all of them, we don't have any certain numbers and that will take a long time. You should do what you want and enjoy unless you're trying to win a world championship (in which case you don't care about health benefits)." My favorite response is always I had a guy say "I'm blocking this dip@#$ because people like him aren't worth talking to" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I though that you're supposed to do the cold plunge before working out...
