REV'IT! Airwave Jacket Review
The REV'IT! Airwave Jacket is the highly anticipated redux of the REV'IT! Air jacket, which has been a home run for the last 5 years. The new Airwave is upgraded with 5 color options, including High-Vis, and offered in sizes Small through 4XL. CE approved Knox Flexiform armor in the shoulders and elbows, and can be upgraded to a Knox TP2 back protector. This is the jacket you want on your back when the heat hits.

Man, I own the airwave set for a few weeks, and although I only got to ride in them for a few days before the weather got nasty, I cant wait for the spring to come! Happy to have listened to you guys and got this great summer set!

Both manufacturers are excellent with quality on these jackets. I would also say that both flow the same amount of air. The Dainese definitely has a snugger fit, while the Airwave is a bit more forgiving. Hope this helps! -CK

The Airwave is definitely more vented, but the Tornado offers extended use into the colder weather with the removable liner. -CK

Airflow is EXCELLENT. Right now it gets to about high 60s/low 70s and I actually get a bit chilled on the bike so I have to wear a sweater/thermal underneath it along with a shirt. I'm sure once the Socal summer hits, I won't need the extra layers. Needless to say, I doubt I'll be sweating in this jacket unless i'm at a dead stop.
The jacket is very stylish. If Rev'it made a version for everyday casual wear, I'd wear it!

I got the dark grey jacket this past summer, love it. The neck roll thing took some getting used to, but it's fine now. A cheap windbreaker underneath it can stretch it into some cooler weather too. I'm about 5'9" ~170lb and the large was spot on.

The Tarmac Air is slightly more aggressively cut and is finished at the neck and collars a bit more nicely. Otherwise, it is just a style difference. -CK

I put about 5000 miles on my Airwave over the summer, both on long tours and commuting. It's great for warm weather, especially on a naked bike where you get a lot of airflow through it.

I do have one issue - while the chest/waist fit well, the shoulders are loose to the point where they flap at highway speeds (60mph+) - I have to wear a backpack on long trips to keep the shoulders cinched down. Not sure if the jacket's just a bad cut for my build or what.

Love this jacket. Spent alot of time trying to find the right jacket for summer riding and this one hits the nail on the head. Sizing is a little snug so an L actually fits like a M as with all the revit gear.

I was a bit wary of buying a jacket online as I have no idea how Rev'it fits. I watched the video and sized myself and compared it with their size chart. I would say they're true to size. Arm length was actually a bit on the longer side but I prefer them that way. In my opinion, it makes them more comfortable in a riding position.

Amazing jacket for hot summer weather when you'd like to wear a t-shirt, but still want some armour and shade. I love mine!

Sounds like an XL would be the best fit for you based on those measurements. -CK

Yes, same ventilation and same attachability to the pants. -CK

I love this jacket. Watch the video - it really helps to get the fit right.

great to see HV, i am a fan of the larger mesh, in houston with 104 F & humidity, for me its function over form ;)

Awesome, so I am pretty small (size 40 in european is fine in the torso, but sleeves are a bit long) so I am sure the small will either fit, or be a little too big. Definitely will be getting a white/black :D

So I am stuck between this jacket and the dainese air flux. This one definitely seems to offer more protection and they are the same price. How is the quality of the dainese compared to this? Thanks

Not sure about the new boxier fits Rev It is doing. I like the Euro fit on the original Air which fit great for us skinny folk!

Got another question, I have only had one leather jacket, but how flexible are textile jackets? Reason I ask, is that obviously, if it is hot enough to need to wear one of these jackets, it is obviously too hot to be walking around in, are these able to fold up and fit in a back pack? Obviously, the armor will take up some extra room.

good...so both have basically same ventilation? and the tarmac air is attachable to airwave pants??
