How to Firmware Update Sony 16-50mm Lens (SELP1650) on a PC to Version 2

The firmware update is for the Lens is for Sony E PZ16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Lens (SELP1650). This is on a PC. But I do have something to say about the M1 Mac version of the Update. The new version is Version 2.
Its benefits and improvements: Improves AF performance.
In preparation for the firmware update:
The lens must be mounted on the camera.
Note: There are certain older camera models that cannot be used to update the lens.
Check the system software versions of the lens.
(On a Mac, you’ll need to be on MacOS 10.5, 11 or 12. However if you’re on MacOS 13 Ventura, this update will Not work, unfortunately…at least at the time of this video release.)
On a PC, you must be on Windows 10 or 11 and make sure nothing else is running in the background.
For the camera, Fully charge the battery or use a new one.
Remove the SD card so that it would not try to access the card during the Update.
Download the Lens Updater (Update_SELP1650V2D.exe) and follow the instructions.
The update should take about 2-3 minutes.
