Thank you for answering the question that has held me back from using my freeze dried beef……IT IS GOOD TO USE!!!! My beef is not cooked but raw ( and FD’d) I have used dehydrated beef in the past but it appears to be somewhat cooked ( 160 degrees) and my freeze dried beef is NOT cooked…..Looking forward to putting it all together…I love pemmican!!!

Season your Tallow with salt spices and herbs as the Tallow renders. Make a breakfast sausage seasoned, a Cajun/Creole seasoned one, make a Mediterranean seasoned one. Play with it a bit and have fun with your survival food.

I was actually looking for this type of video, pemmican recipes always ask to grind the beef and I remembered that dry freezing makes food extremely crumbly. How fine was the grind compared to other types of drying?

How did this turn out? I haven't found any recipes using FD meat vs dehydrated meat. I have a freeze dryer and want to try it that way. Also, what cut of meat did you use?

If you have a freeze dryer then pemmican should ve the last food you should have to rely on😂

Where are the berries ? Optional, sure, but it seems like a good addition, unless using berries like raspberries of blackberries which are 50% seeds, if not more.
Huckleberries, blueberries sounds good to me, and cranberries.
