Every night at sunset the Mexican Free-Tail bats that spend the warmer months here gather to find dinner. They spend their days on the underside of 1-80 between Sacramento and Davis. Once the sun dips down behind the coastal mountain range, they leave in large groups for a show of about 15-20 as they fly out.

To find them, they're in Davis, California. I-80 at the Mace Blvd exit. Look for the Vic Fazio Yolo Wildlife Preserve. There is a large set of silos and modern barn by the entrance. The Preserve is open sun up to sun down. The group of 250,000 bats are around approx April to October.
