For anyone still wondering you need to put the mk1 and then the mk2 upgrade in in the 4 slots in the laserdrill (mk2 only doesnt work)

where it says 'increase depth'. Does that mean for every tick you increase it, it goes down 1 block from the drill or is that the y level it is drilling at?
