Good explanation of how to interface sensors via the Arduino ecosystem into Alexa, to trigger subsequent Alexa actions. I'll use these concepts (not the piezo but other external DIY sensor technologies) to monitor the driveway to start, announcing the arrival of vehicles. It can be extended from there... Thank you !!

I've done the same with a $12 aqara vibration sensor stuck to my door and linked to home assistant which then sends a doorbell sound to my echos and displays a message on my TV.

Where did you actually get he sketch from?
does the broker, smartnest provide example sketches? do they have any for a simple contact sensor I can make by using a normally open magnetic reed switch? or for a motion sensor?
