Why Statistics Canada wants Canadians' personal banking information

Canada's NDP finally joined the Conservatives in calling on the Justin Trudeau Liberals to shut down a controversial Statistics Canada data project. So what exactly does the federal agency plan to do with that data? Global News explains.

Yup, so when the big banks are going bankrupt they can legally take your savings accounts. 60% over 100, 000 and 40% under 100, 000. The “buy in” sounds so non threatening doesn’t it. This is law in Canada.

Does anybody realize that for most Canadians, the banks do not need your social security number? Once they have it, they have it. But you don't have to give it to them unless you're gaining taxable interest.

One does not need a bank account. All it does it make the bankers richer through fractional reserve banking; the money that's yours but you'll never see. And despite this we're still charged outrageous fees and get hardly any interest. If you absolutely must have a bank account don't provide a SIN number when opening the account; it is NOT required, even though they'll certainly ask for it.
