Download our FREE Appliance Buying Guide with honest reviews of all the most popular brands and updates on new tech and trends:

Service is a problem in this industry and by far the biggest department at Yale.

In this video, you will learn about the most reliable appliance brands for 2022 based on over 40,000 service calls completed by our service department just last year. However, reliability isn't just about buying an appliance that will never need service, it's about buying from an appliance dealer that services what they sell, or from a brand that has competent service technicians in your area.

If you buy a whole kitchen, there is a good chance you will need service. Bosch, Thermador, and GE's lines have the best technician support and part availability, at least in Boston. Your area could be different.

Most appliance brands, unlike automobile manufacturers, offer minimal service. Finding competent service should be part of your buying decision, along with price, installation, and delivery.

However, depending on where you live, you should not buy or consider some of the brands on this list because they have little or no service when there is a problem.

My comment is about Yale Appliance: I am so appreciative that you put this information out at no charge. I have found myself having to pay for a subscription to CReports every time I need another appliance. So, I thank you for this information....just wish you were in Louisiana!

Steve, appreciate the Yale blogs. Really helped when looking for daughter's appliances. I tell anyone who asks me opinions about appliances to check out the Yale blog posts because the site compares like to like and it is not biased one manufacturer over another. Always tell pros and cons of each and why you should or shouldn't buy features based on personal use.

Funny about the LG dishwashers. Bought one as a replacement for the GE lost in a catastrophic total loss wildfire. The dishwasher cost $1200 and take 2.5 hours to complete its cycle, using no heat element, relying on hot water and obscene amounts of Jet Dry to get the dishes dry. Can’t stand this dishwasher and miss the old GE which did a fabulous job in spite of being over 8 years old. When rebuilding our contents after the fire, we went with LG across the board. Kitchen, laundry, TV/electronics. BAD decision. Should have researched each item and purchased accordingly.

miele is a fantastic company, and very easy and reliable deal with them for buying parts. my miele dishwasher is 30 yrs. old. I recently needed to replace a wand and a few yrs ago, it needed a minor repair. other than that, no problem with it at all.

Our LG refrigerator lasted 8 1/2 years. Compressor died. I don't think LG should be this high on the list, although I guess they fare much better in your service data. I just missed the class action lawsuit that closed in 2020. Some have said that they are still making the defective compressors. I don't know personally. We loved the LG when it worked. Just purchased a GE today to replaced the LG. I am hoping it does better over it's appliance life.

Really surprised NOT to see Whirlpool on the list. My 22 year old side-by-side Whirlpool frig just got forced out of commission because the company decided not to continue producing the main thermostat. After 22 years of service, we decided to replace it with another Whirlpool (large French door model). We are hoping for anything close to the reliability of our old frig! Any comments or feedback is appreciated.

Bosch is pretty darn good in my book. Also, from what I understand, Speed Queen does NOT make them like they used to. A couple of years ago, people were scrambling to get the last of the original made versions before the new, less sturdy designs came out.

I guess it does depend on what part of the world you live in. In Toronto Canada, as a small time landlord, I only use Whirlpool brands, simply because of parts availability. I have heard too many horror stories over the years from other landlords about LG lack of parts availability. Some of those brands, I have never heard of.

5:35 I had a top-load LG washer until about a month past the warranty expiration. I have had a Speed Queen ever since.

I've had a GE hotpoint top loader washer for over 20 years...love it and it just broke. I called and it will cost over 300.00 to fix. Same day I called on my 25 year old gas oven...it will cost 225.00 to fix....California and this HURTS 🙏🙏🙏

About to pull the trigger on a Samsung Refrigerator 85533. I had a Samsung before that I loved as long as I took a hairdryer to the ice maker once a month. I've been told that when the ice maker is in the lower rather than the upper section that shouldn't be a problem. We are also looking at a SS range, dishwasher and microwave. Any thoughts? Warnings? Live in SoCal. By the way, love you channel. Well done!

So, when it comes to GE Profile does that also include GE's new Profile washer & dryer? @Yale Appliance

We recently bought the Speed Queen Washer and dryer and the washer drains soap into the bottom of the tub after the load is finished. The clothes touching the bottom of the tub are left with unused soap on them. Have you ever come across this issue?

I can't believe that Kitchenaid is on this list. They must have had a total reworking since I purchased our kitchen 5 years ago.

Question, are the Samsung fridge issues consistent throughout all the models? I’m interested in the 4 door flex and I’m not seeing issues specific to that model
