The Israel Defense Forces  is the national military of the State of Israel. It consists of three service branches: the Israeli Ground Forces, the Israeli Air Force, and the Israeli Navy.
It is the sole military wing of the Israeli security apparatus. The IDF is headed by the Chief of the General Staff, who is subordinate to the Israeli Defense Minister.

The Lebanese Armed Forces also known as the Lebanese Army, is the military of Lebanon. It consists of three branches, the ground forces, the air force, and the navy. The motto of the Lebanese Armed Forces is "Honor, Sacrifice, Loyalty" ( Sharaf.Tadhia.Wafa').

Hezbollah is a Lebanese Shia Islamist political party and militant group. Its paramilitary wing is the Jihad Council.
Hezbollah was led by Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah from 1992 until his assassination in an airstrike in Beirut in September 2024.
