Nominal GDP you used is pointless because it doesn’t measure purchasing power parity
100$ in Poland and in Switzerland have different purchasing power

I 1990 the average sallarry after taxes in Romania was equivalent of 25 euro in UK the average sallary was equivalent of 800 euro...the average sallary in uk was almost 35 times higher ...over Romania
I present the average sallary in Romania twords the end of 2024 is 1050 Euro ..in UK is around 2700 euro..the gap shrinked to just ..less then 3 times...now you can forecast the future ....

What will be Romania GDP ppp forecast in 2029 ?
Check this out
“List of countries by past and projected GDP (PPP) per capita”2029

Best in class economies from the ex eastern europeans block will surpass the last poorest performers in the south Europe troughout 2021 to 2029....
Slovenia, Czech Republic, Estonia,Lithuania surpasses Itally, Spain evean Japan or New Zelland
getting closer to UK ...
Romania surpassed Greece and Portugal....sorry Portugal ..I know how much you love to call us ..gipsy...
On this planet called Earth there are more than 200 countries!By 2029 in terms of GDP in purchasing power Romania ranks 45
.From this point of view Romania is in the first 23% countries in the world .
The first 15 -16 ranked countries are “puffed donuts”(their gdp is super gonflated (40%)due to offshore tax politics...
In 1989 when comunism collapsed in eastern Europe, Romania GDP was 15-20(in nominal terms) times lower than the average of western Europe.
In present the average GDP of western countries over Romania droped to just less then double ....by 2029 GDP ppp of UK or France will be only 15% higher... from then 30 years ago..by the time when comunism collapsed in eastern Europe.
Many things changed here...only the views of western europe over eastern europe is stucked in the past....let's them laugh..who laugh at last ...laugh better..

How long it will take for eastern europen countries from EU to close gap with west?..to become “rich”?
Actually I prefere the term “developed country”…In west the only “rich guys” are those one from upper classs…
Well, lets start with the past.
Before the world war 2, in terms of gdp ppp ..thanks .... to their empires Uk And France ranked numer 1 respectively 2 then Germania and Austria followed by Italy..
Since this countries don't have empires anymore ...By 2029 in terms of GDP PPP, Austria ranks 21 !!!, Germany 23!!!, France 29...., Uk 31!!!!….
Italy 35 and
Spain 43…, behind Slovenia, Estonia, Czechia, Lithuania …almost on the par with Hungary and Romania...
Under normal conditions, or similar conditions with west, eastern europe chatch up with west in a fast pace.
After world war 2 when this countries gaven up to their colonial posesions, their economies in terms of gdp ppp droped… making place for the Nordic Scandinavian countries to rise…up
Countries from Africa, Asia, or Latin(south) America and the Caribbean own their current situation due to their own choices.. their own capabilities or to their I.Q .The present economic out put is the result of their competencies as opposed to eastern Europe..where the situation was different…
Eastern Europe was invaded by Soviet union and forced to become communist...
In eastern Europe the problem it wasn’t about incompetenciy..it was about lack of permissiveness from URSS..If eastern europeans could chouse freely .their way ..their economic output would have been similar to the west…
In eastern Europe nobody wanted communism, nobody was foul enough to adopt communism by it’s own will. For exemple In Romania, Soviet union falsified elections …With the help of soviet union ..the" newlly communist party "got 80% of votes and won elections…in reality the communist party got only… 8% !!!
Soviet Union forced eastern Europe to severely underperform…forced eastern Europe to underachieve..
It’s been 35 years since the communism collapsed in eastern Europe and already best in class countries in eastern Europe troughout 2022-2029(Estonia, Slovenia, Czechia,Lithuania) managed to close the gap and even to surpass the south European countries like Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece bouth in terms of HDI, IHDI, Social progress index, nominal GDP, GDP ppp… due to the fact that now eastern Europe could enjoy the benefit of democracy and liberalism
By 2040 the best in class countries like Estonia, Slovenia, Czechia,Lithuania from “estern Europe” will close gap with nordic countries like Danmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland (by 2027 they already surpassed south economies)
Poland, Slovakia,Latvia,Hungary, Croatia will surpass Italy, Spain by 2030 closing gap with countries like Austria, Germany, Netherland,Belgium,Uk,France(central Europe by 2040)
According to economic forecast by 2040-2045 Romania and Bulgaria close gap with countries like Italy Spain etc… around 2050 with .France, Uk, Austria…Germany
In terms of gdp ppp Romania surpassed Greece and Portugal by 2029..already in 2020 Romania GNI ppp is similar to Portugal and above Greece
In so called western Europe there are 3 layers in terms of economic development : 1.Scandinavian countries, 2.place .central europen countries and 3 .place ..south European countries
In eastern europe : the equivalent of Nordic countries in terms of economic development are Estonia, Lituania probably Latvia, Czechia , equivalent of Swiss is Slovenia,
equivalent of central western european are Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia
Romania And Bulgaria are the equivalent of Italy, Spain …if we look at the pace of development…
By 2040-2050 this is the situation in European Union … if there are no major disturbances..like an invasion… for exemple .
Between 2023-2030 Western europen countries GDP will grow on average with 1.5% per year while eastern european countries will grow on on average 3% per year.

Greece is not in the list, because it's NOT a poor country. It has the highest tax evasion in EU and one of the highest in the world. $65 billion, is more than the GDP of any of these countries.
Salary and income is NOT the same thing people.

GDP isnt a factor that shows you how Rich people actually are, atleast not fully. You must add such ones as GDP PPP (how much you can actually buy in country you live and work) also income inequality index matters. GDP is only worth of all goods and services made within a country divided by country's population. Nothing more. It can gives you some general information but reality is much more complex.

Haha when people see their country on the list the say that Nominal gdp doesnt matter, the same people see their country in purchasing power will tell you that nominal is much more important. My opinion is that unless your country produces everything on its own and doesnt import anything then ppp matters, but there is no country under 200/300mil that manages this. Medicals, energetics, building materials, software, research, weapons, even food and dozens more.. All these things are more global than local so nominal plays bigger role here. Truly self-sufficient is maybe USA and China. There PPP might matter big.

GDP per Capita doesnt mean a high(er)personal income, so we can't say people are doing fine or better.
