3:30 the declaration of independence of the Rep of Moldova states that the official language is ROMANIAN. Not romanian-moldavian. There is no moldavian language, its standard romanian, spoken everywhere in Romania.

Language and ethnic diversity is never an asset. It is a potential source of friction and internal strife.

I enjoy the travel site Matt and Julia. He is a Londoner who speaks English & Russian. Shecis from Siberia & speaks Russian & English. They are a young married couple who travel throughout the old soviet & new Russian Federation. They also travel throughout Europe and share their personal journeys. I hope that you enjoy itcas much as I do!

You can't help but be poor when the metropolis (Russia) decided that your economy should only be a producer of fruit and wine. The entire industry of the Republic of Moldova was built in the current separatist region of Transnistria. A country that lives almost exclusively from agriculture has no chance. That's why it must unite with Romania now that Romania still wants this. Even if, let's say, the Republic of Moldova were to enter the EU, depopulation and economic decline will continue, because young people will continue to leave and if there is no human capital, no one will invest in this country.

The facts are wrong! Moldavia was never in Austro-Hungar empire. Was an independent country all the time, Ottoman vasal. And Republic of Moldvia is a region that in WWII, Russian take it from Romania. After it become indepentent country.

Very nice video, although Moldova is the poorest country in europe looking at the people and how they live and dress you would not think that, when looking at some the cities in the US and Canada and all the homelessness and drugs you would think they are the poorest in the world

not the Russians gave the name Bessarabia, the Bessarabian dynasty, they laid the foundations of the Romanian country (the country of Wallachia) terra valahorum, and you are wrong when you say that Atonescu deported Jews from Bessarabia, Romania did not deport Jews from the borders of the country or from the occupied areas to the Nazi camps, there were Romanian labor camps, where neither incineration, beatings, gassing or starvation was practiced, only work was done, and those "Moldovan Jews" were actually ethnic Russians or Bolshevik Ukrainians, who spat and mocked the Romanian Army during withdrawals from 40, and who mocked and contributed to the deportation of Bessarabian Romanians or their execution as Romanian collaborationists
