It's IMPOSSIBLE To Align My CHEAP Jaguar S-Type *We Tried*

A cheap, 5 speed manual 2003 Jag S-Type, what's not to love? I bought this old Jag with the 3.0 V6 in it and after driving it a bit, I had to fix it. After fixing the engine in the last video it was time to move on to the suspension that was basically all worn out. I'm replacing all the tie rods and sway bar end links... but when it came time to align it things went south. No matter how much we moved the rear tie rods the alignment simply stay out of spec. I'm going to try again but for now, the front end is WAY better!

Always good to "Know a guy"....kudos to Johnny at GAW! I gotta say if I had access to a cool lift and tools, I'd probably do more work myself. Nice deal you have there, help him with stuff and he let's you use a bay/lift. That trailer at the end is wicked cool! Be fun to have a "road trip" in that for sure!! Nice TRX air!!

JR, another trick to get new tie rod ends located is while the original is on, measure from the center of the joint up the rod 10" (any set distance) and scratch a mark. No counting needed as you just screw the new on until the measurement matches.

I have and rebuilt the same car and the control arms are a mandatory change, i replaced the uppers and pressed all now bushings in the lowers... That made the biggest difference in handling overall but I replaced absolutely everything in the suspension

To prevent the parking brake from engaging, hold the P switch down while removing the key.

This is a problem Lincoln LS owners have too. they just wont align properly. Its just due to the chassis aging, and certain parts strethcing ever so slightly over time.

IK most LS owners get modified Tie rods and things.

I hated the oem Jaguar lugnuts cause everytime when i went to the shop with somekind of problem the service technician constantly stripped my lugnuts and i ended up buying new ones. One day i got really tired of it and started to digging the internet for some solution and i found a company in LA California who have recognized this problem and they manufactured out of chrome steel. Got a whole set and after that my problem has gone.

I did that “poor man’s” tie rod end replacement once and got it so good that the next day when I got tires, drive axles, and an alignment, they told me the alignment was already nearly perfect.

To keep the electric parkbrake off when the ignition is switched off, keep the chrome operating button (on the cenre console) pressed down as the ignition is switched off and the key is removed
