Which phone should you buy your teen or tween? #shorts

And my recommendations sometimes are surprising to the person asking.

I'm a big fan of Pinwheel, and while I haven't had a chance to use Troomi yet, it looks very promising.

Flip phones are actually terrible for kids. They still have access to the internet, but there is no ability to manage, monitor or control the phone, so it's actually one of the WORST things you can buy.

I am also NOT a fan of Gabb. You can't promote a phone that "doesn't require parental controls" that is still not completely safe. It gives parents a false sense of security.

You do not have the ability to monitor text messages on a Gabb, you cannot control WHO can communicate with your child, including spam texts and calls!

You also can't control time limits on the phone. Yes it can only text, but your child could be texting all night long and you'd have no idea.

Pinwheel and Troomi are much better options in this case.

Finally, I've said this over and over. iPhones cannot be monitored as well as an Android, so I would hold off on the iPhone until your child is 16 or 17.

I'm a teen with a gabb, and i don't know why people hate it, its the best. I'm not tempted to do anything bad and I feel extremely safe on it. My friends have never bullied me for it either. I think its a great phone for younger teens.

As a tech-woman, she rejected it because at IPhone, you cannot spy on your kid. At android, she can spy on her kid.

Hi I'm Hannah and I am 12 years old here is my personal opinion !

So I think that anything under 10 is to young and they should enjoy outside and playing with friends while they can, elementary school is also safe and most don't allow phones so I don't see why they need it. If you have a medical condition its a different story though of course! i around 7, 8, 9 the child should be introduced to a tablet so when they do get a phone its not a total shockwave. I was taught honestly and I ask my parents before everything so they have trust in me and don't imply many restrictions on my tablet. When they are young they should have a time limit, im homeschool and use my tablet for school so I don't have one. There are consequences that come naturally like if you stay up to late you will be tired, and the child gets to learn self control. I think middle school is a great time, then they get to communicate with friends and family easily and it allows the parents to have the child's location and gives the child freedom to ride bikes by their selves or walks! Phones are a great safety tool. I personally don't have a phone yet but this is my opinion and I feel I am ready when my parents are and they have discussed it many times! iphones are probably the safest phones on android it is easy to bypass anything and get mods ect

AUGHGHJGHJDGHJ I hated my android phone, couldn't facetime, some many apple things I couldnt have, parents had me under a ton of parental control stuff, phone crashed every 2 minutes (I wish I was joking). I saved money and I bought an iphone 12. I have had my iphone for 2 months now, its AWESOME! I can facetime, theres so many cool apple features, MY TEXTS LOOK NORMAL, my parents cant keep me under their parental controls as well as they could have before, I CAN LISTEN TO SPOTIFY WITHOUT RESTARTING MY PHONE, BETTER WIFI ahfhfhhfhfhf its awesome. I remember my friends were like "oh cool" when I showed them my phone, to them (kids whose parents paid for their iphone 16 max pro) they were like "why didn't you get a newer phone". I explained that I covered all of the expenses for my iphone 12 (they did not expect that, they didn't know that I bought my phone with my own money so they understood). My iphone 12 works perfectly I know its not the newest phone but its practical, its versatile, and most importantly, its mine, I worked for every cm of it.

I agree with the gabb phone I had a gabb phone at 12 it was so awful I suggest a bark phone or a iPhone just with parental controls the gabb phone is so boring and just not good! Just think if you where in your kids shoes and had to carry that piece of crap around

im 16 and i have 3 phones. a galaxy s24 plus, my gaming phone (yes i have a pc), a moto g play 2024, my work phone (yes i have a job), and my iphone 14, the one my parents pay for.

Yo, the gap room is actually a good phone. I got I just got one for Christmas. It’s a good quality you have to find out how to add some stuff or not but yeah you like manual apps phone number and then you can make your own for kids well don’t know what you’re talking about you leave.
