Choctaw here. Read about this story long ago. We call Bigfoot hattak shaui - which translates to raccoon man. Interestingly when I was a child I asked my grandma how to say monkey in choctaw and she replied with hattak shaui. I asked if she had ever seen a monkey and she said yes, in the woods. She was full blood choctaw and had never been anywhere outside of our hometown.

That is a story I have known for decades. One interesting part you didn’t tell was the Tubby Warriors could let their legs down and get off of a running horse to fight the enemy without stopping their horse. They used this technique and it surprised the enemy. They had incredible power and when they did this they had incredible momentum. Power and momentum all by letting their legs down and engaged the enemy.

You neglected to mention LaFlore was unhorsed. He drew his .36 caliber Colt Paterson revolver first. The shots merely splattered on the beasts chest. Using his sword now Joshua gave a good accounting of himself. Until he was flanked by another. Which took.his head off.😢

I'm impressed that they are not cracking up or wise cracking, just looking at each other in those get ups

Replace the word Bigfoot with Giants in the story makes much more sense. Even more just that they would cover it up

Fun fact…. The guy on Harry and the Hendersons movie. The hunter that was hunting Harry. His name was Jac Lafleur…..hummm!! I know it was just a movie but….that name didn’t just pop out of thin air!!

I am a Cree (Nehinaw) from central saskatchewan, Canada, my people and the plains indigenous people around here have a different and more spiritual/respectful meaning with the womans monthly cleanse (moon time). The woman in our communities were honoured and seperated not because they were unclean but powerful, and during there moon time they needed to be apart from everyone else for spiritual/respectful reasons. Sorry i didnt like the misogynistic undertones (also the word primitive), it was a spiritual time for our woman and they were honoured during these times. I am a pitiful man, and only know so much, if you want to learn more, there are knowledge keepers who know more than I. Awesome videos! Keep up the good work.

Hailing from Muskogee County Okla here. I have heard that story many times in my lifetime. FYI They named that county after Josh LaFore :)

Props for giving a shout-out to the channel you got the story from. Now I don't feel like it's just stolen content but a fresh take on a story I know.

I'll sub for that.

Funny my mom was Choctaw/French. My grandmother used to talk about paranormal stuff so matter of factly I never even considered it paranormal, just cool. And I don’t know if it’s genetic or what, but I’ve witnessed pretty much every paranormal you find on these channels. Hard to believe, but the population was much more in tune with stuff like this only 100 years ago. We’ve insulated ourselves with urban environments, and now it seems kooky.

Hey this will blow your mind there's a mountain in Oregon called skookum and it's named after the native Indians of the area and it means monster that eats men!

We just camped and hiked in that area a couple weekends ago… we had an older gentleman and his wife wander into our camp who warned us of lots of Bigfoot activity in the area, he claimed to be a Bigfoot researcher. We just went along with it and then laughed it off after he left. That night something threw an object at our shelter, was snapping BIG limbs near our shelter, and we all hear an indescribable howl like none of us have ever heard before. It was a wild night. Video of hiking trip on my channel!

Some would probably not believe this, I was in basic training in 2008 and during a training day in the woods me and around 30 other basic trainees chased after it. It was close to 100 meters aways, when we ran towards it - it ran off through the woods and when we got to it's location to where it was at, we noticed the trees were snapped like twigs, we didn't chase after it any further because the trees were thicker than our leg.

I had an upclose encounter with Bigfoot as a child. It was interested specifically in me & someone theorized that it was bc my Indigenous lineage! This story shows there's a long history between Natives & Sasquatch and I'm certain they smell our blood.

I had a vivid dream about this about a year ago even though I've never heard this account. Wild. I even woke up and immediately thought 'this should be a movie.'
