Automatic + Launch Control = *Standing* Race Won. Manuals for an average skilled person will never beat the morern automatics these days. It gets to the point that Audi TT-RS and Audi RS3s can beat Ferraris and Lamborghinis in a 1/4 mile race just because of better reaction times.

The B7 rs4 v8 notoriously suffered from carbon build up and many are massively down on power. Wouldn't be surprised if the B7 was closer to 350 bhp

On an other video of that chanel, this exact RS4 did 13.3 sec...
So the pilot was just bad against the S3 this time.

That rs4 its slower than a 340hp s4 v8.... a stock rs4 b7 will do low 13 high 12 at 106~8 mph....not a good example here.

The torque is actually much closer, 430 NM for the V8 and 400 for the 4-pot - I think the confusion comes from the lb/ft figure which is 295 for the 4-pot, or about ‘100 less’ as was said in the video. For all intents and purposes here, peak torque available at the crank is about the same in both cars.

Haha I’ve did this race a few times with a B7 too, same results. DSG/launch control on the S3 is great for Traffic Light GP but it gets old after a while. Whereas the rawness of the B7 and it’s high revving V8 never gets old.

i said this before.... car engines are getting smaller and faster at the same time ! Yeah the only downside is that N.A. engines are disapering and the sound they produce !!! all you need is a good aftermarket exhaust ;)

Gearbox of the S3 should have been in Sport (S) rather than Drive (D) for the rolling race.

Those 4.2s lost power overtime. We dyno'd Hamza's, ( a friend) and it retrned 243kW(350HP)
