I wasn't born a Hindu, but I started following Sanatan Dharma when I was a teenager (around 2005). At that time in America, public celebrations of Diwali were few and far between. It's so great to see how many more people are discovering this holiday and with it the beautiful philosophies of Sanatan Dharma as well as the rich history and culture of India.

To non-Hindus .. You don't have to be Hindu to celebrate. I suggest you look up your local Hindu temple event and show up. I am pretty sure people around will appreciate you being there and treat you with respect.
