Greatest way to show off and remain intimidating. It's essentially the _"pull my finger"_ of 40k.

She must've really liked him. Or messing with him. Cause there's no way someone could pester an assassin like that, show them they can shape shift like that, without the assassin getting a kick from it

This must be how an imperial assassin flirts

The best part is that a Callidus assassin is easily the most sociable of the big four imperial assassins. Vindicare have basically no social skills because they spend all their time in sniper nests. Culexus are psychic blanks which makes them physically painful to interact with in any capacity. And Eversor are so hopped up on stims I don't think they're capable of any interaction that doesn't involve excessive violence.

King maker is such a good book. My friend told me "you come for the assassins, you stay for the knights" and he was not wrong

Her and the vindicare are 100% banging by the end of the book.

Really uncomfortable… unless you’re Jacque Drago. Then you make everyone else uncomfortable!

At least it’s the sociable assassin that the knight encountered. The only thing you’d hear from an eversor is the sweet sound of violence.

atleast its not as bad as the inquisitor that lusted over a callidus assassin transforming into a genestealer

These assassins are one man armies, they are not social being as they different from humans, but still a deadly weapon of the imperium.

"he asked the assassin many questions"

Dumbest man in the setting, hands down, lock it in for all time.

Nahhh that’s just high level trolling right there

I'm in the middle of this book on audible and during this part I was seriously thinking what that would be like irl. Probably have the same reaction as Rakkan did. The book is pretty interesting as it gives you some insight into the assassins of the Imperium. I also like the part where she sneaks into the Callidus's room by going through a small air vent. You know, since the Callidus's door was booby trapped to keep unwanted visitors out. Pretty damn good book.

This book is still one of my top two favorite books I have read in the past 3 years since I started reading again. Highly recommend it if you like the assassins or want to know more about them as well as knight houses

This better not awaken anything inside me.

Horrific maybe, but useful to have as a friend on speed dial? Definitely! 😅

Yeah I'm pretty sure the point of all of them is to be unsettling to be around. For humanity. Outside of stealth based units like Space Marines from former legions like Night Lords and Raven Guard, or worse the Dark Eldar or even Mandrakes. Pretty much everyone that normal/normalish people encounter are supposed to come off as unnerving or unsettling or downright terrifying to be next to or in the vicinity of. The only way that you wouldn't be is if you were already familiar with the horrors of the galaxy and they can't off a little less threatening to your mind and soul only because you've seen a lot of already screwed up things everywhere. Although I don't think anybody would be prepared for something like a room full of healthy killer Blanks from the Cullexus House. By comparison I'm pretty sure anybody who's ever seen the sisters of silence would want one of them around instead. Because while They may be killers, they're kind of outfitted more like knights that rather than “a knife in the dark” (aka and assassin) with a misshapen machine death mask helmet on for a face.
