One of the scary things about sochan is that he's playing for the spurs. And it looks like the spurs are trying to build a defence team were the 5 starts are all defence level players.

As a Spurs fan, the worst and maybe only bad part about Wemby, is that the moment he joined the Spurs, there were fan boys out there throwing every Spurs player under the bus, which is not something real Spurs fans do to their players. Its so sad that they are treating Wemby like they do Lebron, where every player on Lebron's teams is easily tradable, when Wemby and Bron are such different people and characters. The media and fan boys want the entire team to be traded so they can say the Spurs took big risks to put a title team around Wemby, but Spurs fans want the team to grow sustainably and develop great young talent around Wemby so we can have a 20 year dynasty again

I'm from Poland so im kinda biased, but Jeremy has a lot of potential. It was Popovich's idea to move him to pg, because he saw his potential to be a player like Draymond. Also Sochan was defending the best player from the opposing team most of the time, and he was doing pretty well, for 2nd year guy.

I honestly believe the Jeremy can be a hybrid of dray and Kawhi…a secondary playmaking and primary on ball defender once the spurs have there offense going people will see why pop did what he did

Pop playing Sochan at point was a win-win situation. Sochan gets way more practice at playmaking (one of his biggest weaknesses) and Spurs also get a great draft pick while figuring out what works with Wemby

Agree 100%, Sochan off ball is a menace. That's part of the reason why he was such a bad point guard.

As a Pole I have something to add. Jeremy at this point is easily our best player and we're incredibly happy that he's at Spurs. Point Sochan experiment gave him great confidence and he's not afraid to pick up a ball and just start the offence. Like in a game vs Hawks in last year (when he was already at PF) he just took a ball and played pick n roll with wemby. And it worked. He'll be great and we see him as ext Ginobili meaning he'd be extremely useful 6th man and our 1st option at international level. Something he should work on is definitely aggression towards basket, sometimes he's a little annoying that he don't use his body that way.

I wouldn't be surprised if Popovich is trying to turn Sochan into a player like Boris Diaw, a big athletic forward who can do a bit of everything and can be used as a great connecting piece in a team

Pop letting Sochan run at point may have been a disaster, but Pop letting a 20year old run at point who's never played to point would never have occurred in the first place unless Pop saw something in Sochan.
This isn't an argument which proves Sochan is good. But it is one that proves he isn't crap.

Thank you for making this! It was so annoying seeing all the hate towards him during the season. A lot of it wasn’t even his own fault. He was playing a position he never played before and I thought it was ridiculous that people were saying he hated Wemby
