All those years ago..I was a teenaged Punk and New Wave lover. I found myself watching the TV with my Mother...Johnny Mathis (her absolute joy and favourite for the very most of her life) in concert. I commented along the lines of "He is really very good". She responded with (again, along the lines of) "He must be bloody good for you to appreciate him".
Many, many moons later, my tastes have changed very little, in fact have become harder and heavier along the way.
That said, I can very well imagine a very similar scenario, with my Mother (who sadly would be unable to enjoy the spectacle), whilst watching and appreciating two absolute legends of (not only) Country music, bless us all with this majestic performance. I very rarely use the word 'awesome', so I won't..but, I was certainly awe struck by the majesty on offer.
