I just got back from Japan yesterday after 10 incredible days there.
First day in both Osaka and Tokyo I was a little overwhelmed, being from a small city in Australia.
It was like landing on another Planet.
I am already missing the Vibe and planning to go back soon.
Loved the feel of Japan

This brings me back. I've spent many countless nights hanging out on this exact street from 2011-2014. It looks exactly how it did 9 years ago with the same cigarette vending machine at the corner and everything. Spent many nights drinking chu-hais with random locals outside the family mart before grabbing a bite from McDonalds. After 1AM, the subway shuts down so you better be prepared to pull an all nighter on these streets unless you want to pay for a very expensive taxi ride home.

I love how you see people just sitting down on the curbside, just hanging out. Me and my friends used to do this in Stockholm(ofc you don't hinder peoples walking path) and its really grounding to say the least. Generally, the streets are about as clean as in Japan, not really but close to it. It lowers your guard in a good sense, you don't tense up and it's easier to be on guard for any thiefs or people who look for trouble. And creates a more equal enviroment.

I’ve seen districts like this in Korea. Great places for people to spend time. Always felt safe during my six years there. Generally very orderly and clean. The fact that the businesses set out their trash overnight should not be confused with dirty or littered streets. In the morning, the trash would be gone and the streets cleaned, ready for a new day.
