*_Disagree!_* Not only is that verse *_not_* a clear claim of divinity, but it has other possible interpretations which argue against Christ being God.

You're using your understanding to leapfrog from one concept to another. BUT we are all created in God's image with the potential to be eternal Sons of God.

Here is a verse which denies that Christ is God:
*_"And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent"_* (John 17:3, ESV).

Eternal Life is knowing two persons:
* The only true God, and
* Someone who is NOT God, Jesus Christ who was sent by God.

Here are a list of verses which unambiguously proclaim that there is only one God and Christ is not it. But Christ is more than Homo sapiens, just as we all should become more than the flesh (remember John 3).

My good brother, in my mind, Chapter 14 of the Gospel of John, verses 7 and 9, are remarkably powerful. Jesus says he is God, twice, in language that can't be understood to mean anything else. Keep fighting the good fight.
