Показать описание
This is part of a series of 4 brief videos to help newcomers to runes memorize their meanings. This video series should help you get on your feet so you can start reading the runes after watching this series, with no book in hand. Future videos will include some reading methods, once you have the meanings down.

These meanings are not complete, and I do not include the rich history that comes with runes. The viewer is encouraged to continue their studies on the runes to continue to learn more. This series is intended to inspire so you feel capable of giving them a go.

in my rune book, the E rune (which looks like our M and is called Ehwaz) stands for Marriage, Partnership, Teamwork (like the Ring in Lenormand), not at all for Movement. I stick to that, because the R rune (Raidho) means riding and is standing for inner and outer movement, Changes, a Move or an actual Journey :-)

These videos are super helpful but would be even better if you have the names of the runes with each one.

M ehwaz Horse according to Nordic runes book Paul Rhys mountford the old english rune poem says, the horse brings joy : proud on its hooves by heroes praised, it is a solace to the restless.’ And gives the keyword movement - Lisa peschel book says movement and change so like any other form of divination different books different meanings but does not mean one meaning is wrong you just go with the one that feels right to you

The relationship between Manaz and Ehwaz was well spotted. They have a very interesting relationship if you consider the rune poems:

"Maðr er moldar auki;mikil er græip á hauki."
Which means:" Man is an augmentation of the dust;great is the grip of the hawk."
This holds true if you look at the forms of the runes; you can see that Manaz is made Manaz and not Ehwaz by the addition of Gebo, the gift.
