Making Chalk Washes for Scale Models - Quick Tip

In this Quick Tip I explain how I mix and apply chalk washes to my models, using this cheap and easy technique. It defines recessed detail and creates the effect of dust and dirt on the model, making them look more weathered and realistic in my opinion.
RECENT DISCOVERIES:
You can also use SOFT PASTELS as well as chalks for this effect, and you DON'T have to gloss varnish the model before you apply the wash if you don't want to.

Nice technic... i use oil washes but those look great... on an acrilic base i use enamel washes and on an ebamel base... yep... you got it! However this technic is great and the dish wash breaks the tention easely! Thanks

What you've done is great . All my models are museum exhibits ; so any weathering etc is purely accidental . Are you going to do an arty / drama type thing at college . I think you've just got a gift for it .

What's the YouTube sound track used in this video? I've heard it in so many modeling videos and yet I have never seem to be able to find it.

I use vodka and acrylic paints or oil paints and some turpentine, but I must try this one, because it can't actually harm enamel paints :)

I dont get the coat process before decals and after painting, i heard that i have to apply gloss coat before decals to stop silvering, then i also heard you have to spray a clear coat again before a sludge wash? So you spray 2 coats? And then a final coat at the very end? Im confused, so i need a overview of the steps after painting
