NASA is working to send astronauts beyond Earth’s orbit to destinations deep in space on the journey to Mars. The powerful Space Launch System rocket will send astronauts in the Orion spacecraft to places never before explored, enabling humanity to expand the frontier of space exploration. The first mission of SLS and Orion together, Exploration Mission-1, will send an uncrewed capsule about 40,000 miles beyond the moon.

sure wish SLS was properly committed to, but it seems the politicians only want it to funnel money back to their districts. I'd like to see more than a single launch per year.

Just imagine what space exploration would be like if we were not limited by money.

How about building a self maintain station on the South Pole of the moon for refueling like a small platform that would launch unmanned fueling craft that give the fuel in the moon low gravity

I think the chances of seeing SLS fly in this configuration are low. Maybe it will get cancelled long before this.

The fiery dot you see disappearing into the darkness of space came to be because Humankind for a million years has looked into the night sky thinking it could be me asking searching why not me?

Unfortunately, they'll have to redo the audio to make it sound more like Trump wishing the crew good luck.
