Well Paul, the good news is, your serve is still better than mine and I have played at a 3.5 level for the last 20 years! Thanks for the tips 2MinTennis!

So incredibly helpful! I have a great spin serve but recently I have been struggling with my flat serve technique. Thanks for posting this great video.

Got to see the Bryan brothers play in person 2 years ago. Amazing how under rated and smooth their serves are!

Ryan. I love your videos. I am so inconsistent with my serves. I tried this rainbow throw today and that worked great. When I get that down, I will serve much better. Thank you.

Enjoyed the video, and agree the toss needs to be slightly in front, but at his age, same issue with me, how realistic is it to contact the ball as forward as the other guy? No way I can reach that far forward at my age, nor do I have the flexibility. Please comment on how age affects ball toss and contact point. Thanks.

I agree with this topic is about “toss”, I have toss inconstant problem but after try and try. I use toss to my right side straight up into the air together with using my eastern back grip, the result is excellent, I can serve freely. So my experience is firstly solve the toss then fellowing the others.

regarding the third advice...i.e. pronation . could you show what the
racket path should look like during slice serve with pronation (and
string direction during all phases of the serve - swing, moment of
contact, follow through and finish)? because i must admit that Paul's
racket path looks almost exactly like one of other online tennis coaches
explains..

Hey, is the J-toss recommended for the ones who are happy with their toss? Also in one of your videos you said that toss the ball like a glass of water, just wanted to ensure if it goes side by side with the idea of the J- toss?

I also have trouble with continuing the pronation after the hit on a spin serve. No matter how hard I try and do it in slow mo, when I go to hit a serve then after the hit my racquet wants to continue like Paul’s here. Also I am often. struggling to get the kick-type spin going. (On a flat serve my racquet follows through kind of more flat, not pronated but not sliced like the spin serve.)
I wonder how I can learn to let my racquet pronate…
Perhaps this J toss will help, will try it!

His serve looks good IMO. Mostly agree with throwing into the court. Could he keep his off arm up more? Sure but looks good for his age. Disagree with the pronation thing. He appears to pronate, if he didnt he would just hit the ball on edge. Those comparisons are extreme examples and you do not have to fully pronate to the extent those higher level players do. You can see plenty of videos that talk about this online..

Every time I try to arc the ball into the court- it goes everywhere but where I need it.

I don#t recommend this toss to normal players, except you want to practie for years for consitancy. Just stay with elevating but point to the net-pole, so you elevate it in front of yourself an go "in" the ball..
