Maine lobster roll is cold, which is the most common and traditional. Connecticut is hot with drawn butter. Both are of course very good. Always nice to have options.

You can also do a hot lobster roll where instead of mayo you warm up the lobster in butter and put it in the roll

If the roll looks weird to you that's because the bun that he's using is typically only found in New England. It does allow those sides to be toasted in a way that more " normal " hot dog rolls don't allow.

I’m from the east coast of Canada (New Brunswick) where lobster is about as important as it is in Maine. I’ve just never developed a taste for it… I’ll eat a few bites of a claw every few years, but overall if I never had another bite of lobster the rest of my life, I’d be okay. I’ve been in A LOT of nice restaurants that have amazing lobster dishes, and lobster rolls are very popular in “fast food” type places on the maritimes… so fish and chip places, fried clam restaurants, and when they first came out in Canada, McDonalds brought lobster rolls to New Brunswick to try them out. They have NEVER appealed to me and I’ve honestly never even tried one. But seeing this??? Damn Jacob, you made that look so good, I’m going to have to make one and give it a go! The butter was 100% the difference for me, especially that drizzle over the top at the end! Amazing after 50 years of New Brunswicker’s nagging me, my maternal family members from Prince Edward Island doing the same, and countless close friends and family that are lobster fishers in both provinces, no matter how they cooked it up, or how much they bugged me, I’d eat my steak instead and enjoy others eating the lobster. I can cook and shell a lobster with the best of them and thoroughly enjoy doing so for everyone, but not for me. And now, one video by a Maine lobsterman showing a slightly different way, and I’m gonna try it out. That deserves some major KUDOS Jacob, you ARE 100% changing the lobster game all over the world! Jacob is the best thing to come from the whole Covid bullšhît we all put up with until we didn’t! 😂😜🤪👍🏼☮️
