Nonsense! The “safest” seat depends on the accident- the NTSB will tell you this. Wanna chose the “safest”, sit in the back. When a plane crashes it is more likely than not that everything will “fly” forward, including rows of seats that break lose, and if you’re in the back, you’ll be on top of the pile.

I actually enjoy watching plane crash documentaries and while this might be true, I've seen survivors sitting in all parts of the plane INCLUDING the cockpit. When a plane hits the ground or water it can break up in many ways. But it does usually come apart in the middle and that's why you have a better chance of getting out before it burns up. You're gonna get hurt no matter where you sit and children don't have any protection and usually have a high fatality rate. They literally get shoved under the seat.

I never thought you have a choice of which seat you want on a plane. I thought it was the plane management that arranges you according to your weight.

During my first few flights im always booked at the left side of the plane, window side (sunsets). Once at the front(easy boarding and plenty of leg room) and only once at the right side ( night time view)

Appreciated.

But for out of the country trips id prefer middle seats 😂 safety first before comfort
