Appendectomy is a medical procedure that is used to treat appendicitis, a medical condition that causes inflammation in the appendix. The common symptoms include severe abdominal pain, appetite loss, fever, etc. Required blood tests are done before the procedure. During the procedure, anaesthesia is administered, and an incision is made on the lower right side of the belly to remove the appendix. In case the appendix bursts, a small tube is placed to drain out the fluids. After the surgery, the patient stays at the hospital, and their recovery is monitored. After discharge, they must continue taking the prescribed medications.
