For those that have completed the main story and are looking to do this farm before jumping into NG+ I would highly recommend that you get the Sacred Relic Sword from the final boss remembrance, if you haven't already. If you've got any spare Somber stones you can also upgrade the sword to a +9 to get as much damage per cast. Since you only want to use the skill once and then reset for maximum efficiency equip and damage boosting talismans, such as Ritual Sword Talisman, Holy Scorpion (I think?) etc. Don't forget Golden Scarab! You also don't need to wait for all the runes to transfer to you, just cast the skill and go rest at the grace. Rinse and repeat this process for as long as you need.

Once you're set up, stand on the small elevated rock (the one he stands on at 11:53) and use your weapon art. The skill goes an extremely long way and covers pretty much the whole path. Netting you a minimum of 35k runes, potentially even more if the mobs spawn with glowing eyes. If you can get a good rhythm going, you can net up to 15M runes every couple hours. This is also a great way to farm runes to stock up on any materials, stones or consumables since they carry over with you in NG+.

There's an update to the questline with Varre as of 1.06 patch. A new invasion sign of the NPC "Magnus the Beast Claw" can be found in one of the ruined buildings in Writheblood Ruins (Atlus Plateau map), surrounded by a pack of bloodhounds. Once the NPC is defeated, the player can return to White Mask Varré at Rose Church to progress the quest.

Btw the big bird seems to have a different path after the patch because it now targets you correctly which means it will almost always fall off no matter where you stand - unless you put the tree trunk and yourself in its path so keep that in mind when you shoot at it.

Get the talisman that enhances roars and the weapon art for the greatsword will reach like 3x further netting u way more runes. Its called Roar Medallion, and it comes from Stonedigger Troll in Limegrave Tunnels

You don't have to hit Radahn twice with the breath. You can hold the cast and it'll do a longer breath and in one breath attack you can inflict rot on him. I found it easier to go for one longer attack(especially in phase 2 when be goes nuts) than 2 shorter ones since a lot of times he doesn't give you a lot of openings to cast your spell. Not sure if the shorter spell charm does anything, I used a magic resist charm and cast magic resist incantation which helps reduce some of the damage his attacks deal.
Even with this it took me a while. Died probably 15 times one night, figured I've played to long and I'm done. Went in next day and beat him on my second try. My heart was racing watching his health bar tick down as I'm riding around the area on my horse to stay away from him. Been a while since I had that rush (Manus, first time with O and S, Sir Alonne, Fume Knight, Nameless, Friede, Gael, Ludwig, Orphan, Lawrence, cursed dungeons, Ape boy, Isshin and Genichiro) and its exactly why I play these games.
Can't wait to see what other tough and awesome bosses this game has.

1) Dragon Communion Seal is easy to get.
2) don't use a bow use Golden Land on the great stars. Just farming the bird is faster and easier. If you do it at night bird will occasionally spawn an evil version and drop 86K runes.
3) spectral Lance and Frenzied burst cam also hit the bird. But Golden Land is the best.

For mages who don't want to use a bow for the chicken, you can use Lorettas greatbow or Lorettas mastery instead. And then just mage some of the little guys

For me the easiest method to starting this farm early is to kill the sleeping dragon at early game using any bleed method of choice. Get Rot breath from communion using the heart. Get golden seal and do usual somber +10 grind. And a bow+arrows.

As a 50/50 int/faith build with golden seal+9 I could hit chicken then one breath down the field kills 5-7 of those sleeping guys in two ticks of dmg. And repeat.

About the same as this video but the only boss ya need to kill is sleeping the whole time

If you killed varre you can find a bloody portal that gets you to the blood palace in the far left of the map in the consecrated snowfield ( you'll be invaded by a sanguine noble to activate the portal)

Thank you!! Everywhere else showed going through the snows or warping from some other underground place. This was a huge help. I really thought I had to be further in the game then this.

anybody that happens to not have Radahns sword i used the Blasphemous blade with the ability and upgraded to the max it took out all the enemies almost as quick.

You forgot to mention to do this at NIGHT TIME because there’s a chance of the monster you’re slaying has glowing yellow eyes which gives you 4x it’s original runes on top of buff from the ring and chicken foot

i used those swords for this exact farm until i reached ng+ and now use the final boss sword. and i can get 11 mil an hour
