Personally when I got out of ADN school I quickly went back because I wanted a leadership role and the manager told me that I would be a great fit but I didn’t have my BSN. I don’t like limitations so I went for it and I don’t REGRET IT!

I’m getting my BSN now, but I’m sorry those ADN nurses run circles around us in terms of clinical preparation. Due to the fact that they only have two years they get right to it! ADN schools near me have students starting clinical in their second week whereas in my BSN program we had to wait until our second semester after being accepted. To each their own :)

My sister did her adn and my little sister did her BSN and I did my adn. From what I noticed bsn programs grade easier, my adn was cutthroat (we all went to public state schools). The adn is good for quick entry but you need a BSN basically everywhere at least in the west coast. Education is definitely key! The roi (return on investment for a nursing license) is so worth it hands down. I paid 4k for my adn it was def worth it, my sister paid 25k for her BSN and it’s worth it. Adn programs are harder to get into. Nursing from my perspective is an exclusive club and lots of gatekeeping to get into school and graduate I think.

I don't believe it's necessary. I just became an RN after a few years of LPN. I am gonna get it though. I just need to get the hang of this ER first.

I just applied to bridge. I would like those saying BSN for leadership role, in TEXAS MEDICAL ASSISTANTS ARE MANAGERS. I AM A NURSE and the MEDICAL ASSISTANT IS A CLINICAL LEAD. It matters where you work. As an LPN, I have charged, beat out RNs for roles, the only LPN along side RNs. ADN is all I want because I offer more than education in my roles.

I want to get it just to have the option to be a manager. Although I don’t necessarily want to be a manager right now in my current state of mind, but in nursing it’s always good to have options. Although, my goal for my nursing career is to be a CRNA so it’s just the necessary step that I’m procrastinating about honestly.

Hi
Of course a 'BSN' degree is worth the hard work and study !
You study for 4 years as apposed to two years with an 'ADN' programme, also the 'BSN' is a much more academic mode of study, you gain significantly greater clinical knowledge and skills, which in turn gives the individual more choice for career development.
All education is valuable though !
Thank you
