the thing is, aldi uses its market power to bye directly from the manufaturer. so the aldi "fake" product is exactly the same what´s in the "original" just for a lower price!
It´s also pretty funny, that they compare aldi to trader joe´s. while aldi in the US is original "aldi süd(south)" and trader joe´s is "aldi nord (north)" what used to be one company owned by the Albrecht brothers. they splitt up over an argument if cigaretts should be sold in the stores. but till today even they split up, they conbine their market power to get lower prices.

You can see it best in frozen pizza. If you look at the different brands of pizza, you will notice that several of these pizzas are made by the same factory.

Try finding a website that tells you which high-end products Aldi has rebranded. Tandil (a detergent) is actually Persil. Same manufacturer, same ingredients, slightly altered looks and a MUCH lower price. They have very few problems cutting these deals with the manufacturers because they're buying in bulk. And if you look closely, you'll probably recognize the similarities in packaging to the "original" product.

Just like the cereal labeled Millville is actually manufactured by General Mills.

What I do is go to Aldi first for what I can get, then the bigger chains for the rest of the items

It was definitely the location. The ones here in Texas have fresh meat.

It usually differs on what I want to buy. If I only need staple food I shop at Aldi. Meat depends. If I want really good quality meat, I'd go to a butcher. Or if I need something special or extra, then Aldi would not have that wide range of selection. But for everyday stuff and (standard) fresh fruits and vegetables? Yeah, I'd go to Aldi any day. It saves a lot of money. And Aldi's selection is small enough to know if they have what you need before you even enter the shop.

I shop at Asda Tesco Aldi and Lidl in Cardiff it’s very popular in Europe and the uk hopefully it catches on in America to help people who are struggling with the inflation over there plus our meat is different than USA meat that might be why it looked different to you cause your might not be use to it yet
